Rachael is currently earning her master’s in international human right at the University of Denver. She received her bachelor’s in international relations at the University of San Diego and, as a Semester at Sea alumna, has circumnavigated the globe in true sailor fashion. Rachael spent 2 years with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps on the Micronesian island of Pohnpei teaching high school science courses. It was there that she fell in love with education and the beautiful culture of the Pacific Islands. She also has a passion for working with youth who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. Rachael enjoys hiking, snowboarding, wacky, science experiments, and all things Harry Potter. She is thrilled and thankful to join the Hope Shines Team!

Jessica Yadon grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and studied Sociology at Oklahoma State University. She then ventured out to Colorado, where she pursued a Master’s Degree in Business Administration at the University of Colorado – Denver, specializing in International Business. As a soon-to-be MBA graduate, Jessica is excited to be working with Hope Shines as the Fundraising Coordinator and is especially focused on developing a sharpened skillset in grant writing.

jessica_sunJessica is Hope Shines’ New York based fundraising coordinator and is currently a sophomore studying Political Science and Public Policy at the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College. She’s especially interested in development work and hopes to pursue international development studies in the future, so she’s excited to be part of the Hope Shines team. She hopes to help Hope Shines continue to grow and expand its reach and impact. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys dancing, reading, drinking tea, watching TV, writing, and exploring NYC with friends. She especially likes Broadway shows, ballets, the Strand, art museums, and Harry Potter.
