Sara Foster Fabiano grew up in Angola in southwestern Africa and moved to the United States as a senior in high school. From an early age, she had experiences that piqued her interest in medicine and so she decided to pursue a career in medicine. Sara completed her undergraduate degree in South Carolina, went on to medical school at Wake Forest in North Carolina, and subsequently moved to Colorado for a residency in family medicine. After completing her residency, she stayed on with the program as a provider with Denver Health. Having lived in an international context with a mixed family, instilled in her a desire to continue to be involved in international activities and service. Hope Shines has been able to serve as one of those outlets since joining the board in 2018.
